Time Junkies ‘90s boxes have been created from items that we believe were the most memorable collectables of the decade. Whether you choose a box as a gift idea to a friend or perhaps a treat for yourself you’ll be reminiscing and getting hands-on with classic items the ‘90s had.
CONTENTS FOR BOTH GIRLS & GUYS BOXES
Although the game of milk caps had been around for decades it was given a massive boost by the emergence of POGS. Arguably the biggest fad of the decade POGS (small, colourful discs of pleasure) could be found in every playground in every town. Armed with your beloved shiny Slammer you would go about hoovering up other friends Pog, creating a highly competitive environment.
The ‘90s brought us some of the most iconic bands of all time. Who can forget the clash between Blur and Oasis, Robbie getting into trouble and the outrageous costumes that Geri wore? Well, we don’t want you to forget so have included a CD single in the boxes to ‘Bring it all back’. Note that with the Bundles we include a Brit-pop pin badge to wear with pride.
The ‘90s certainly had its share of classic comic publications. Many series from previous generations (Beano, Dandy, Mandy & Judy, Marvel etc) continued to prove popular in this decade and still do so today.
'90s MOVIES (with sweets)
From Pulp Fiction and Fight Club through to American Pie and Jurassic Park, the '90s gave us a visual treat when it came to the movies. It may surprise you to know that the humble VHS cassette did not start losing ground to the DVD until 1998 but now very few people own VHS players. As such we’ve included a classic movie case and cover and instead of giving you a video nasty we’ve filled it with sweets iconic to the '90s such as Millions, Flumps, Chuppa Chups and Rainbow Drops.
A RETRO MAGAZINE
Teen culture was brought to the forefront in the ‘90s thanks to increased circulation and popularity of the likes of Smash Hits, Just 17 and Alive and Kicking. Full of crushes and insights into a teenagers mind these magazines were a must-have for every bedroom
MAGIC EYE PRINTS
Incredibly frustrating for those who couldn’t see it but super cool for those that could Magic Eye prints became all the rage in the mid-90s. Best advise we can give you is put it right up to your nose (don’t go cross-eyed), try to lose focus and gradually begin pulling it away and you’ll soon start to see the 3D image form.
Although this only hit the UK shores at the end of the ‘90s this card game some became one of the biggest global companies. The question we ask is ‘did you manage to catch them all'? If not you this might be your opportunity to finally complete that set.
ALIEN EGG BABY
Goodness knows what was going through the minds of the creators when they released these in the '90s. This toy exploded onto the scene with thousands of kids playing with slimy alien babies. Good news is thanks to Time Junkies you can now relive this rather gross fad.
Admittedly books were rather tedious and boring gifts when you were a teen. Aside from the odd Xmas annual there wasn’t much going on in the book department … and then Goosebumps came along and no one got a good night’s sleep again!
TRADING CARDS/ STICKERS
Along with classic movie releases, cartoons and comics came the ubiquitous pack of '90s trading cards and stickers. Whether you were after Merlin football stickers or collecting shiny Spice Girls stickers there was probably one card that you never managed to find. Well, we'll throw in an unopened pack for you ... so you never know!
CONTENTS FOR '90s GUYS BOXES ONLY
GO GO CRAZY BONES
How many Go Go's did you own? If you were a lad in the '90s we think probably quite a few! One of the decades biggest fads these colourful creations will bring back memories.
A CORINTHIAN PROSTARS FIGURE
A classic piece of '90s football history. Each of these Corinthian Prostars portrayed caricatures of legendary footballers (most now commentators on MOTD) and could be used to cheat in Subbuteo.
A FINGER SKATEBOARD
Your teacher is in the background yacking away about this and that and there you are performing ollies off your exercise books. The best fun you could have had with just two fingers.
CONTENTS FOR '90s GIRLS BOXES ONLYA LIP SMACKER
The ultimate addition to any school bag. With a variety of tasty flavours and bright colours, these lip balms were all the rage back then. Note that the ones included in the box are all new.
BUBBLEGUM WHEEL TAPE
Although Hubba Bubba had been around for decades bubble-gum came back into fashion thanks to the launch of the wheel in the '90s. With 1.8 meters of chewy goodness what’s not to like about this American classic?
A TATTOO CHOKER
Having somewhat of a resurgence lately these neck accessories ensured that goths were celebrated everywhere they went. Note that the ones included in the box are all new.
We're not that big-headed to admit we’re not perfect so if you think there are items we’ve left off that should be included in the ‘90s Time Box then do get in touch.
